The lady & the bed
2nd & 3rd may
Following on from 2014 Lady in the Bath: We now offer again a rare opportunity - two days to paint a model set up in an actual setting. A chance to work on a composition and develop it into a 'real' painting.
In our beautiful North-lit gallery space we will be setting up a bed, some wonderful bed clothes and props to simulate a boudoir space. The light should remain reasonably constant through the day. We can ensure that each artist can find a space from which to view the scene as they prefer.
Paintings shown are by artists on the course.
Day one saturday10.00: Meet and Greet! A chance to get acquainted with the space and the model (Tea & Coffee will be served)
10.30 - 12.30: Morning session - A try-out of quick poses so that we can find out what works best for all concerned. We would hope to get a pose and set-up finalised by half way so that we can start on the final paintings before lunch. 12.30: Lunch (Bring your own picnic style or enjoy a simple rustic meal for £10*) 1.30 - 4.30: Afternoon session - Painting begins. Individual help as needed or wanted to get started and decide on the approach. 4.30: Round up and discussion of the day's progress (Tea & Coffee) 5.00: End of Workshop. |
Day two sunday10.00: Looking at the work with a new eye - decisions on how to proceed (Tea & Coffee will be served)
10.30 - 12.30: Morning session - I imagine everyone will be painting with intensity! Help is on hand if you hit a blockage! 12.30: : Lunch (Bring your own picnic style or enjoy a simple rustic meal for £10*) 1.30 - 3.30: Afternoon session - More painting - this is the time to pull the work together and make those judgements that will determine the final piece. 3.30: Early finish for those who need to travel home (Tea & Coffee) 4.00: An opportunity to continue for anyone who would like more time. (Time will depend on the model's state of mind!) |
