Taking Control of Watercolour –September 19th & 20th
There are so many effects and techniques to using water colour. It is the most versatile of media. Understanding how to use these methods gives you control over what you are doing and how your painting turns out.

Day One : Saturday
10.00: Setting the goals for the day (Tea & Coffee will be served)
10.30 - 12.30: Morning Session – In a short demonstration, Cathy will demonstrate some of the ways your water colour can disappoint and how to avoid them. You will then have some fun applying these in your own painting. 12.30: Lunch (Bring your own picnic style, or enjoy a simple rustic meal for £10*) 1.30 - 4.00: Afternoon Session:the world of wet and dry. How wet your paper is; how thick your paint is; how you use your brush . . . these factors all affect the success of your work and how happy you are with the outcome. This afternoon is all about control – but in a positive and enjoyable way. 4.30: Round up and discussion of the day’s progress.(Tea & Coffee will be served) |
Painting Day Two : Sunday

10.30 - 12.30: Morning Session – This morning we will concentrate on adding life and verve to your paintings. Cathy will help you to find the confidence to stay in control of your paint! You will then have some fun splashing about with your brushes – without a care in the world! 12.30: Lunch (Bring your own picnic style or enjoy a simple rustic meal for £10*) 1.30 - 4.00: Afternoon Session - We’re going to pull it all together – your new knowledge and your new freedom of expression. Your final flourish! 4.30: Round up and discussion of the day’s progress.(Tea & Coffee will be served) |
