Life painting like Gauguin
17th - 18th August
Music can be mindful and meditative as well as a relaxing experience as you paint. Yet, alternatively, Music can also inspire – bringing forth colour and expression in ways that can surprise you. This weekend will treat you to new experiences in the joy of painting.
SATURDAY 21st
10 AM - 12 PM
A short introduction will start the day, where we look at some of the ways music can affect us and some alternative painting responses.
Our first exploration will be identifying our personal emotional response to a piece of music and getting that response onto the paper in a variety of media
12 PM – 1.00 PM - Lunch
1.00 PM – 4.00 PM
What to listen for in music as a painter: colour – shape – rhythm – light and shade
We will create some abstract paintings as we listen - expanding sensitivity and expression
You will be surprised at the results and very pleased we hope
SUNDAY 22nd
10 AM - 12 PM
Time to explore some music that you love (we hope you will bring some along)
This will be a sharing session
12 PM – 1.00 PM - Lunch
1.00 PM – 4.00 PM
Here we take something or some things that you have created over the weekend and explore how you can develop it further into a beautiful piece of art
